Officials identify 79-year-old man killed in Homestead house fire

Officials on Sunday released the identification of a 79-year-old man who died Saturday morning after he was trapped inside a burning home in Homestead.
Ronald Jenkins was killed in the fire that had been initially reported at 11:23 a.m. in the 100 block of West 12th Avenue, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.
First responders found Jenkins was trapped inside the second floor of the structure, according to Allegheny County Police. Firefighters were able to get him out of the residence, but he died later at a hospital, according to a police news release.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office was investigating. County police asked anyone with information about the fire to call their tip line at 1-833-255-8477.
